Roadside Anomaly Touring Challenge

This challenge is no limited to Georgia and it's pretty simple, really. As you motorcycle across the country on those pretty little two-lane roads you encounter some pretty odd stuff.  Things that we have grown too busy to notice.  Roadside Anamoly Touring (R.A.T.) makes you slow down and at the very least take a picture!

The concept is pretty simple. Do you know of a place that is unusual, one-of-a-kind or weird?  Do you think other motorcyclists would find it interesting.  Can you take a picture of it with your motorcycle in the foreground?  Well guess what?  A R.A.T. site is born!

The Rules

  • Locate a R.A.T. site.
  • Take a photo of your motorcycle or you and your motorcycle with the R.A.T. site visible and send the photo to our Vice President by email.  Photos of just you or you and a vehicle with more than 3 wheels will not be accepted.  We are after all a motorcycle club!
  • By all means, if a R.A.T. site has already been posted it may be used by other members!  You'll just have to send in your own picture is all.  After all, the idea is to ride!
  • Photos of motorcycles on trailers will not be accepted.
  • Along with the photo include what the site is and where it can be found.  And if you can, provide the GPS coordinates to make it easier for other people to find it.
  • A R.A.T. site must be an fixed object and cannot be a vehicle (unless abandoned), person, sign or moveable object.  It must be something that can be found in the same spot later.

Examples

  • The "Big Chicken" at the corner of Roswell ST and US 41 (Cobb Parkway) would qualify because you don't usually see a chicken that size on the side of the road.
  • The B-29 Superfortress in front of Dobbins Air Reserve Base would not qualify because you'd expect to see an airplane at an Air Force Base.

Q: What if I'm not sure it's a R.A.T. site?

A: Go ahead and submit it and the President and Vice President will decide if it is.  Chances are that if it's unusual enough for you to send in, it probably is a R.A.T. site.

Q: Can I visit other R.A.T. sites and have them count?

A: Yes you can.  This is all about riding your motorcycle and having fun.  Of course we'd like for you to find some on your own R.A.T. sites too!

Q: I took a picture with my cell phone but don't know how to send it as an email.  How can I submit my photo?

A: Send an email to our Vice President and he will give you a phone number to send it to and submit the photo.
