Vice President Chris Ehlbeck recently retired from the Atlanta Police Department after more than 30 years of service.  As a present to themselves, Chris and his wife Donna took a motorcycle trip on the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway with their BMW K1200LT.  They rode up to mile marker zero in Virginia using an off parkway route and then headed south along the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway.  While the Parkway is 469 miles it was a trip they intentionally planned to take 5 days that included a two night stay in LIttle Switzerland, NC.  One thing they did find out was that no matter what time of year it is, you need to be planned for all weather conditions.  While it didn't get cold on them, they did ride throuhg a lot fog and rain.  Chris wrote an article about the trip that can be seen on their blog.

They also created DVD slide show of the trip set to music from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  A copy of the video was also uploaded to YouTube and can be seen below.
